The North Norfolk Coast area of natural beauty, is a beautiful stretch of coastline, known for its picturesque villages, wildlife-rich marshes, and stunning beaches. In Wells-next-the-Sea, at The Normans you can gaze out of the spy window at the top of the house in the morning, check out which way the weather looks best and choose your destination from the beautiful Norfolk coastal map above the kitchen table.

Here are our top 5 favourite beaches:

1. Wells-next-the-Sea Beach – Best family beach

Backed by colourful beach huts, pine woods, and sand dunes, Wells-next-the-Sea Beach is a long and sandy as far as the eye can see. Perfect for a family day out, the shallow waters are ideal for children paddling and swimming in, especially along the channel at the end nearest the cafe. Be mindful of the tide changing and listen out for the siren that lets visitors know it’s time to return to shore. With plenty of parking and toilets this beach offers the beauty of the coast with practicalities for young and old alike.

2. Holkham Beach – Best Beach for long walks

Holkham Beach is one of the most stunning award winning beaches in the UK, with miles of white sand dunes and shallow lagoons. This beach is perfect for long walks, sunbathing, birdwatching and wildlife spotting. There is plenty of parking in Lady Anne’s Drive and a board walk to the beach. However, be ready, it might be a long walk to see the sea depending on the tide. One thing we can guarantee, this beach is good for the soul and is all about huge skies and big lungfuls of fresh sea air. It never disappoints! Cafe, toilet and visitor centre make it an easy all day stay.
