The huge skylines and Country Estates of North Norfolk are no stranger to being the back drop for  blockbuster movies and TV Series. Look out for celebrities whilst you are out and about or perhaps spot locations you’ve seen on the big screen. 

Meanwhile here are 5 of the best filmed on Locations near to The Normans.

Darkest Hour (2017)

This historical war drama film stars Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill and focuses on his early days as Prime Minister during World War II. Holkham Hall was used as a filming location for some of the interior shots of Churchill's home, including the Cabinet Room.

Victoria (2016)

This popular TV series focuses on the early years of Queen Victoria's reign. Holkham Hall was used as a filming location for several episodes, including scenes set in Buckingham Palace.

The Crown (2016 - present)

This award-winning Netflix series tells the story of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Holkham Hall was used as a filming location for some of the interior shots of the Sandringham estate, which is owned by the Royal Family.

The Duchess (2008)

This historical drama film stars Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes and tells the story of Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire. Holkham Hall was used as a filming location for several scenes. Check out the red flocked wallpaper when you visit that was the heroine of one of the scenes!

Die Another Day (2002)

When Bond came to Norfolk,  Pierce Brosnan farmland in the village of Burnham Deepdale was transformed into a North Korean paddy field.  A 35-strong film crew turned up at the farm along with a Lamborghini, which was dumped into a pond and a series of wooden shacks and farm animals to recreate the North Korean countryside.
